Previously known as Mi Drop, Shareme Mi Drop is a p2p sharing app that does not require an internet connection when sharing files between Android two Android devices. ShareMe is among the most popular sharing apps on Google Playstore, following over 100 million downloads from the Google play store.
The app use is also extended to computers and laptops, and it is not limited to Xiaomi phones too. You can use it with different phone brands. It is even better when you transfer files when the phones are nearby.
Fortunately, Mi Drop’s interface has a clean and also a minimalistic design. All the options are right on the homepage of ShareMe, such that you do not have to go searching for files and other options. Furthermore, there is a search box on the homepage where you can search for your most preferred files.
So let’s get down to how you use the app on two Android phones.
NOTE: Before anything else, you must ensure that the receiver phone also has ShareMe installed to it.
Step 1: If it is the very first time you are using ShareMe you will have to give the app full permission to access your files.
Step 2: Choose your avatar and name.
Step 3: After the permissions are granted, tap on the send button and choose all the files that you want to share.
Step 4: After selecting your choice of files, tap on the send button again. Meanwhile, ensure that your receiver phone has the ShareMe app and that you have followed the registration steps as on the sender app.
Step 5: After everything is set, your sender phone will start searching for the receiver phone and start transferring the files.
Step 6: Once you are done sending the files, you can tap on the cancel button to end the transferring function.
The only disadvantage that comes with this app is that you cannot download or use it directly on PC since it has been specifically designed to be used on Android devices.
However, you can still use it on your PC with the help of a Bluestacks Android emulator or any other trusted emulator like Memu.
Step 1: Download and install BlueStacks on your PC using this link.
Step 2: Open Google Playstore in BlueStacks and search for the ShareMe Mi Drop app.
Step 3: After installing ShareMe on your sender PC, repeat the same steps on your receiver PC.
After downloading Shareme Mi Drop for PC on both of the sender and receiver PCs, you can now transfer files from one PC to another PC as you did on your Android phones.
